We are Roger and Hannah Stuart-Andrews, a retired professional couple, whose life passions are fully expressed in our home. We are members of Birdlife Australia and Hannah is a passionate gardener and environmentalist while Roger has a love of history and of water-based naturally regenerated bushland. Our combined passions have been expressed in our stunning property much sort after by local photographers. A hectare of wetlands, complete with board walks and ponds, provides homes for the 88 species of birds and three of frogs Hannah has identified plus the swamp wallabies who bound along the creek and through the wetlands. The restoration of Dunns Creek has been undertaken by Roger with generous contributions from Melbourne Water in the form of grants.
Our commitment to our community is clear from our involvement in the tourism and landcare networks. We are both members of the Mornington Peninsula Regional Tourism Association and the Mornington Peninsula Hinterland Tourism Association and also of Dunns Creek Landcare Group and the Friends of Coolart – in the latter two Roger is the President and Hannah is also on the committees.
Our property features vistas of rolling hills, water gardens, ornamental lake and paddocks of alpacas, sheep and goats just waiting to be hand fed, while hens and ducks lay their eggs for our enjoyment.
Our philosophy is to endeavour to leave a minimal impact on our environment hence we use LED lighting throughout, Sukin organic sustainable toiletries, recycling of all end products, composting of all food scraps (or giving them to the hens to recycle as eggs) plus water conservation practices. It is for this reason that we have constructed Limetree to have high ceilings and heavy insulation in both roof and walls thus avoiding the need for air conditioning – hence each room has a ceiling fan for comfort but not out of necessity.
